Venice: Dilapidated Arches

Dilapidated Arches  While exploring residential districts in Venice, Italy I discovered this stabilized building.  It appears that the arches above the waterline were in need of support and wood beams were used to secure the building's structural integrity.  Many edifices in Venice are sinking, leaning, and crumbling.  Interestingly, this is the first building that I encountered with artificial external supports.    Ago vita vos somnium (live the life you dream)

Ornate Alley - Venice, Italy

Ornate Alley  It is not every day that I get the chance to walk out my door and head to a far corner of the Venetian islands.  The above photograph was taken in the early morning as residents of Venice were busily walking to work with a coffee in hand and leather briefcases in tow.  After several attempts, I captured the scene without any pedestrian traffic.  Ago vita vos somnium (live the life you dream)
